Business Development Lead / Senior Account Executive

Location: Remote (US)
Type: Full-time
Reports to: CGO
Compensation: Base $80k–$110k + uncapped commission (OTE $200k–$300k+ when meeting targets)

Role Purpose

Bring in new, right-fit clients and build a repeatable sales system that adds $1–$2M+ in new annual recurring revenue (ARR) in year one.

What Success Looks Like

  • Pipeline: 3-4x coverage of quarterly revenue targets within 90 days.
  • Revenue: $1–$2M+ new ARR in year one
  • System: Documented BD playbook (ICP, outreach, partner program, events) by Day 60.
  • Win Rate & Speed: 25–35% opportunity-to-close; average sales cycle <45 days for core services.
  • Quality: Wins align to ICP and hand off cleanly to onboarding + strategists with clear SOWs and success criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect & Qualify
  • Build lists and outreach to target accounts; activate your existing network.
  • Develop partner and referral channels.
  • Run the Sales Process
  • Lead discovery, solution mapping with our strategists, proposals, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Manage the deal to close; set clear next steps and timelines.
  • Build the Engine
  • Define ICPs, messaging, cadences, and tools
  • Stand up partner/referral programs and an events plan.
  • Forecast & Handoff
  • Keep CRM accurate; provide weekly forecasts with clear stage definitions.
  • Transition wins to delivery with complete scopes and context.
  • Collaborate With Marketing
  • Help turn case studies and points-of-view into targeted outreach and ABM campaigns.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years selling agency services (or similar) to mid-market companies (6-7 figure average annual retainers).
  • Consistent history of $1M+ new ARR per year (individual or primary owner).
  • Ability to explain and sell multi-channel growth work (media, creative, analytics) at a strategic level.
  • Built or improved a sales process before (lists, sequences, partner programs, dashboards).
  • Proficient with Notion or HubSpot and proposal/SOW workflows.
  • Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and documentation.

Nice to Have

  • Ecommerce experience; PPC/SEO/paid social/analytics familiarity.
  • Experience within the life sciences, home services, health & wellness, or apparel industries.
  • Account-based marketing (ABM) and event/partner marketing experience.
  • Prior experience at a growing agency.

Compensation Structure (example)

  • Base: $80k–$110k (experience-based).
  • Commission (uncapped):
  • 30% of onboarding/implementation fees on Closed-Won.
  • 10% of the first 3 months of MRR.
  • Accelerators after exceeding quarterly targets.
